What is Project 39
Project 39 is my personal mission to mark my 39th year with 39 epic challenges. It’s not just about endurance. It’s about leadership, community, and proving what’s possible when ordinary people choose to push past their limits.
The Mission
Through a mix of solo ultras, brutal team tests, mountain ascents, and creative endurance events, I’m taking on challenges that demand resilience, grit, and purpose. Every step is about raising awareness and support for Demelza Children’s Hospice, while showing others what it means to live Rugged — to endure, to lead, and to inspire.
Why 39?
Because life is short. I wanted a way to mark the time between turning 39 and 40 with something bigger than myself. 39 challenges in one year isn’t about chasing records for ego. It’s about building a movement, raising funds, and showing what can be achieved with discipline, belief, and a community that refuses to quit.
The Challenges
Some are solo. Some are team-based. All are designed to test the limits of body and mind. From ultramarathons to multi-day hikes, extreme gym events to record-breaking elevation attempts — Project 39 is a year-long journey of resilience.
The Bigger Picture
Project 39 isn’t just my story. It’s an invitation. To train with us. To take part. To support Demelza. To be inspired to start your own journey.
Follow the Journey
Every challenge will be documented — the highs, the failures, the lessons. Follow along, support the mission, and join the Rugged community as we take on something far greater than one man’s test of endurance.
