Time together. A shared goal. Something to remember.

There is something powerful about taking on a challenge together. People talk, support each other and discover they are capable of more than they thought.

RUGGED challenges ask something of you. The preparation, distance and terrain are shaped around your group, with guidance and support along the way.

Whether you want a team day outdoors, a longer workplace programme or a challenge connected to a cause you care about, we can start with what you want your people to get from it.

Choose the challenge that fits your team

Private outdoor challenges

A hike created for your group, with an agreed distance, terrain and shared goal. Explore Kent, Surrey or Sussex together and give your people a reason to train, prepare and take something on.

For: team days, staff groups and organisations wanting a physical challenge together.

Workplace walking programmes

Build movement into the working week with a programme running over an agreed period. Shared goals, weekly challenges, encouragement and updates help give people something to work towards.

For: teams across different locations and businesses wanting a longer programme. Tracking and participation arrangements are agreed with you.

Charity fundraising challenges

Give your group a challenge connected to a cause you care about. Take something on together and encourage people to fundraise alongside it.

For: charities, fundraising teams and businesses supporting a chosen cause.

Challenge fees and charitable donations are separate. Fundraising arrangements are agreed clearly before booking.

What RUGGED takes care of

  • A conversation about your aims, group, preferred dates and budget.
  • An agreed challenge format and route planning where relevant.
  • Preparation guidance and participant information.
  • James leading the outdoor challenge, or providing the agreed support for your workplace programme.
  • A written proposal explaining the scope, inclusions and total price before you book.

Transport, refreshments, medals and venues are included only where stated in your proposal.

Led by James. Built through experience.

I have spent years working with people, helping them get stronger, build confidence and take on things they did not think they could do.

Through RUGGED and Project 39, I have organised and led group challenges across Kent, Surrey and Wales. The people, the teamwork and seeing someone realise what they are capable of are a big part of why I do this.

Everyone’s Everest is different. We start with your people and build a challenge that gives them something meaningful to work towards.

Feedback from previous RUGGED group challenges.

“The smiles, the community, the encouragement, teamwork from everyone and leadership from James not only gets you through, but makes you realise you can achieve more than you realise!”

Ian

“Another amazing part of these challenges has been the community that James has built and friends that I’ve made along the way.”

How it works

  1. Tell me about your team. Your group size, preferred dates, location and what you want to achieve.
  2. We shape the challenge. Discuss the format, fitness levels, preparation and budget.
  3. You receive a proposal. Clear inclusions, responsibilities and pricing before booking.
  4. Prepare and take it on. Your group gets the information and support agreed for the challenge.

A few practical questions

Does everyone need hiking experience?

No. We discuss your group’s fitness, experience and access needs before agreeing a route or programme. The preparation and suitability depend on the challenge chosen.

How much does it cost?

Each team challenge is quoted individually based on the format, group size, duration and support required. You receive a written proposal before making a booking.

What does our organisation need to arrange?

A main contact to coordinate the group. Participant numbers, dates, logistics and responsibilities are agreed with you as part of planning.

Where can we run a challenge?

Outdoor challenges focus on Kent, Surrey and Sussex. Workplace walking programmes can involve teams in different locations. Tell me what you have in mind.
