Multi-Collagen Explained: Types, Ingredients & Five Easy Uses

One of the easiest ways to build a routine is to add it to something you already do. With collagen, that could be your morning coffee, breakfast or a smoothie. First, it helps to understand what is in the sachet.

What is collagen?

Collagen is a protein found in connective tissues, including skin, tendons and cartilage. The collagen in your body has a structural role. That does not mean a collagen supplement automatically repairs an injury or guarantees a result.

What does Multi-Collagen 8-in-1 mean?

RUGGED combines five collagen types: I, II, III, V and X, with vitamin C, biotin and hyaluronic acid. “8-in-1” refers to that combination. It does not mean eight collagen sources.

  • Pack size: 30 unflavoured sachets.
  • Sachet weight: 10g of the complete blend, including the added ingredients. This is not 10g of pure collagen.
  • Sources: bovine, marine, chicken and eggshell.
  • Allergens: contains fish and egg. It is animal-derived and is not suitable for a vegan diet.

Five easy ways to use your collagen

  1. Coffee. Stir it into your usual coffee. A milk frother can help mix it evenly. Keep the sachets beside the coffee so you remember.
  2. Smoothie. Blend it with the ingredients you already enjoy.
  3. Yoghurt. Stir it through yoghurt or your usual protein pudding until mixed evenly.
  4. Porridge. Mix it into your breakfast, adding a little liquid if needed.
  5. Soup or a sauce. Stir it into your serving. Pick one daily habit rather than adding extra sachets to several meals.

What should you expect?

Research into collagen supplements is still developing, and results vary. There is no guaranteed timeline. Keep the basics in place: a varied diet, enough protein, appropriate training and recovery. Follow the pack rather than increasing the serving in the hope of faster results.

Make it part of your day

Choose the easiest option to repeat. If you already take creatine, Basecamp Foundations brings collagen and your choice of creatine format together.

Follow your product’s directions. Food supplements do not replace a varied, balanced diet and healthy lifestyle. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, taking medication or have a medical condition, ask a qualified healthcare professional before use.
